Animation Scripts

Lately I've been really curious about scripts for animated feature stories. I'm working on writing an animated TV pilot in my spare time, but I've only done scriptwriting for live action before. I'm really interested in the difference when it comes to animation. Is it more common to put really detailed descriptions of the visuals, or does that come later in the creative process? Does the script usually come before the project, or are they developed in tandem? What kinds of things need to be marked down that you don't need for live action, and vice versa?

I found this site, which has a few feature length scripts to look at. I think the musical numbers are especially interesting to look at. How intricately timed out line-by-line they are.

Here's a Rick and Morty episode script. I wanted to compare feature length films with TV.
