Avengers 16-bit Animation and the Accessibility of Technology

https://www.themarysue.com/16-bit-snapture/

I found this article about an animator named John Stratman who recreated the Thanos snap scene from the film Avengers: Infinity War. Stratman has also produced other recreations from comic book movies and even includes a side-by-side comparison with the actual footage from the movie at the end of the video. The final product is impressive and it got me thinking. Programs that are essentially industry-grade is now available to the public. With the speed at which this happened where do you see this accessible technology going in the next 5/10 years? And how will this change the animation industry?

  2. I can definitely see amateur animations like these becoming mainstream. Especially thinking back to one of our first class discussions about flip book animation and how the drive to animate (particularly in that style) is sort of innate in people and artists. Professional programs like this open a wide array of possibilities for people just looking to create. (RESUBMITTED COMMENT)
