High Quality VFX... Suspending Disbelief

Audiences will have to suspend their disbelief regardless of the quality of the VFX. We go in having a preconceived understanding that the effects, no matter how realistic,  are fake. However, I believe that the more "realistic" or high quality the effects are, the easier it is to be completely immersed in the movie especially given the current quality of VFX being as good as they are. For example, if someone was to make a Star Wars type movie with a puppet and the 70's effects, it would take me out of the film. Since high-quality VFX are the standard today, to see something other than that would affect the viewer's belief and overall immersion in the film.

In addition to this, Audiences want to see high-quality VFX. It doesn't matter whether or not the quality changes how we suspend our disbelief; if it has outdated VFX it won't be seen by the masses.
