Triplets of Bellville
This post is simply a recommendation to see the Triplets of Bellville in your lifetime. It's one of my favorite movies and favorite animations.
Directed by Sylvain and released in 2003, the movie is set in France and follows the life of a boy growing up to race in the tour de france. However, on the day of the race he is kidnapped and it's up to his elderly dog and his grandmother to save hime.
The animation is absolutely incredible. Besides some singing there is no dialogue and the visuals really drive the story. With a green and smoky color pallet to reflect the dinginess of vast, overpopulated cityscapes and exaggerated caricatures of people the visuals are stunning to watch.
I would recommend this movie because it really uses animation to exaggerate features and actions that prove a point as well as make it hilarious and fascinating to watch.
