Star Wars and the unparalleled universe

I was recently speaking with my aunt, who is a die-hard star wars fan, and she brought up the interesting fact that the star was universe leaves endless stories to be created. While in the originals there was live action with a dash of stop animation (walkers), the newer films have taken advantage of the realistic CGI and used it to create much more detailed films. The star wars franchise has also branched out into tv shows, in the form of the animated series The Clone Wars. Animating a star wars show allows the creators and storytellers to exaggerate the fight scenes and movie magic. This animated show allows a lot more than the live-action films.

  1. The newer series' haven't captivated me as much as the 2003 Clone Wars series back when it was on Toonami (and was absolutely sick) and the newer Clone Wars series was also incredible. The reason why they were so good, especially the original Clone Wars series is because they were directly tied to the main universe as canon. We got to see General Grievous's origin of his cough in the original Clone Wars series as well as bringing us directly into the third episode. I would like to see different story lines outside the main canon animated, especially with the Clone Wars reboot coming down the pipe

  2. The comic book illustrator that talked in our class was discussing how they should just let all comic book writers have creative freedom to come up with endless stories and then the producers could just choose their favorites or only publish a few or whatever. I think this is a similar situation where with animation we can just make endless options and creative takes within a universe
