Skyfall Opening Credits
I recently re-watched the opening credits sequence for the James Bond movieSkyfall. The three to four-minute sequence is an incredibly impressive mix of computer generated animation and live-action film. While it takes certain queues from previous Bond films, this scene sets itself apart with its seamless transitions and eye-catching animation.
There are many instances of objects morphing into other things which transitions us through the sequence, and keeps the rhythm with the Adele soundtrack. Computer generated flames, blood and smoke are also very compelling and beautifully animated in a photorealistic fashion.
Overall, I think this was just a great example of what CG and live-action can do together especially with the kind of budget the animators had access to for this scene.
I think this is a super cool way of mixing live action with CG frames, and most Bond movies play off of this extremely well! It is super cool that you brought this up because it gave me the idea of if the computer generated frames of title sequences of films are considered animation.
